:: Holiday Earrings ::

I had grandiose plans for an amazing post today,
but turns out I am not the expert packer I thought I was.
I’m a fraud.
At least when it comes to packing for Chicago + Grand Cayman, two polar opposite wardrobes.

I was trying so hard to share a carry-on with Kip and check one larger suitcase, but turns out my husband packs A LOT of clothes.  I blame him (although really, he did, it’s nuts) but I don’t think we could have made it work anyway.  But when in doubt, always blame the husband.
I’m exhausted from packing and re-packing and already realizing important things I have left behind (my beloved Night Gaurd for my insane clenching, no doubt made worse by my husband’s horrible packing, my Wet Brush, my self-proclaimed title of expert packer……)

SO.  For today, I am sharing some of my favorite earrings for the season!
Earrings are definitely the easiest way to elevate any look and look polished in seconds.
These faux diamond studs are on sale for only $9, and the red statement earrings for only $15! I love, love the gold bows to make any outfit feel so special.

// RED STATEMENT EARRINGS // FAUX DIAMOND CLUSTER STUDS // GOLD BOW EARRINGS //
the red statement earrings also come in black, and they are light as air despite looking super heavy!

Not pictured, but another favorite : I swap out my daytime studs and have worn gold Kate Spade Christmas Bow earrings for several years now for the whole month of December, and everyone always comments on them!
I wore them with both of these outfits below

note to self : do not zoom in on your face to see earrings if you ever want to feel good about yourself again. Photos DELETED.

I did find tons on ebay, but I found an identical pair in red and silver for only $12!

// BOW EARRINGS RED // BOW EARRINGS SILVER //

More statement earrings on sale below :

Fingers crossed for an on time, smooth, and safe flight there!
I’m thinking the Travel Gods that curse me thought I was traveling out of Atlanta on Sunday accidentally and that hopefully we’ll be in the clear!

p.s. it’s a TWO POST Tuesday (who am I?)
Check out my Gift Guide for The Booze Lover post before this!

I leave in one week for Grand Cayman, and then we fly straight to Chicago on Christmas Eve.
I am trying to figure out what (and how) to pack for all of this, but I know that this dress will definitely be coming with me to Chicago.  It’s a great go-to look to last now through spring!  I have this dress in the sleeveless version as well and love it.  I love a plaid scarf, but a plaid blanket scarf is especially perfect in the chilly temps.  This scarf keeps me so, so warm!

dress runs TTS,  I’m in size S
I also have this in the SLEEVELESS VERSION

side note : if any of you have dinner recommendations for Cayman, let me know! We have been going to the same restaurants for over 10 years (Calypso, The Wharf, Deckers, etc.) and I feel like we should branch out one of these nights!

:: weekend recap ::

Hope you all had a great weekend!
As you may have seen on instagram, we had a snowy weekend here in Atlanta!
It started coming down on Friday and didn’t stop!
It was so pretty and made for a fun Christmas weekend since it had been almost 70 the weekend before! It definitely made it finally feel like Christmastime!

We went up the street for dinner and drinks on Friday night and then stayed up late watching Christmas movies on the couch.  Saturday we woke up to no power, but luckily ours was back by the afternoon.  We went to see my family and and play in the snow with my niece and nephew which was a fun memory!

It was so crazy to see the flowers that were still blooming and then freezing over.  So many of the trees here still haven’t shed their fall leaves and then were covered in snow – what is going on!?

Saturday night we made it to one of two Tacky Sweater Parties – with Atlanta folk not being the best drivers (Cough : truly THE WORST) in ideal conditions, we didn’t want to Uber too far where there were still some trees down, but we still had a fun night out with friends at the one we made it to!

If you are in need of some good Tacky Sweater Attire, Target had a great selection!

// DRESS // HEADBAND // ROMPER //

I got this mistletoe headband and thought it was so cute.

I wore this Velvet Santa Hat Dress which was VERY comfy.

I had also grabbed this Ornament Velvet Jumpsuit as a backup which is hilariously tacky and fashionable as well.  I decided not having to get completely undressed to use the restroom would be the better option!

Sunday I had lunch with girlfriends and then put on my glitter slippers and stayed indoors for the rest of the night!

My exact slippers just sold out online! Shoot!

Have a great start to the week!!!

:: Friday Randoms and Link Love ::

Cheers to Friday!!!

We have two tacky sweater parties on Saturday and plans to veg tonight.  Kip has been gone all week for work so I’m excited for a low key date night tonight.  Usually we go out for dinner down the street but I think we may just be lazy and get take out on the couch.  No complaints here!
All of Atlanta was at the grocery store yesterday when I was picking up dinner and I was like “what the heck is going on?!” and then I realized we had possibility of ice and snow, so naturally, Atlanta stockpiles as though they won’t be able to leave their homes for days.  And I, naturally, am off to run errands!

Each day I keep pulling out a little more Christmas decor.  It’s not as much as last year; with Kip traveling all month and then us leaving town before Christmas we didn’t get a real tree this year (tear).
But it just isn’t as fun without the real tree!
So I had been hunting for blue and white ornaments to make our fake tree something special, but kept coming up empty handed.
I found these adorable ginger jar ornaments but they are all out of stock.

and then I came across these ceramic beauties and got all excited, but I just can’t stomach the price. Though they are on sale!

So maybe this just isn’t my year for my blue and white dream tree!
Although please, please send me any ornaments you find that you think would fit the bill! I can always wait until after Christmas when things go on sale for next year!

I loved listening to Leslie Odom Jr’s Christmas music while decorating and blogging this week.  I love Michael Buble during the holidays, but having some new Christmas is always nice too!

His Winter Song (that he sang during The Victoria’s Secret Show) is so, so great.
Going to be a go-to for Christmas’ to come!

Speaking of Christmas Music, have you heard Sia’s Christmas Album?

Oh. Em.  Gee.  I mean… don’t. But do.  Do go listen.  It kept coming on in Kip’s car this weekend and I was cracking up listening to his reaction and his “Thumbs Down! Why is this on a Christmas Station!”  I can’t remember which songs were particularly hilarious, but it definitely did not put us in the Christmas Spirit.

ELECTRONICS TRAVEL POUCH // AVAILABLE FOR WEEKENDS LUGGAGE TAG AND PASSPORT HOLDER // MASON TRAVEL BAG // TRAVEL JEWELRY POUCH // MONOGRAM TRAVEL PILL SET // EYE MASK WITH COLLAGEN EYE PATCHES // MONOGRAM LUGGAGE // MONOGRAM PACKING CUBES // STRIPED PORTABLE PHONE CHARGER // MONOGRAM TRAVEL POUCHES // HOW TO PACK BOOK // TRAVEL STEAMER

Extra Battery – It’s almost 2018.  Even if you read books and people watch (seriously the best people watching on the planet at the airport…. although it brings up many mixed emotions…) you need extra battery! Make it something cute like this and they’ll think of you every time!
If your shopping for the man in your life, he may not appreciate that as much, so this is a simple streamlined option!

Mason Travel Bag – I know I’ve talked about this bag for years, but if you’re new around here, trust me – it is the best bag you will ever buy.  Can fit SO MUCH stuff, it is the sole reason I can travel out of the country for two weeks with only a carry on suitcase.  Perfect bag for weekend trips, too.

Steamer – I use the Tepoinn Travel Steamer and it is the best by far.

How to Pack Book – This seems really silly, but it is a tiny and inexpensive book on Amazon and I absolutely love it.  It really is a huge help if you’re the kind of person that always overpacks and has nothing to wear, or just packs completely wrong all the time! Plus, it’s the prettiest book and looks adorable sitting out on your desk or on a shelf!

Packing Cubes – Best thing for any trip, no matter how short or how big.  These can make packing for a weekend trip as easy as packing in a little duffle bag! Especially if they are compression packing cubes.  I also love these monogrammed navy packing cubes that are on big time sale! Also on sale, this seersucker set of packing cubes!

Travel Pouches + Organizers –
Any zippered pouches you can have to organize things like your electronics, your cords, your make-up, your whatever you may need – especially for longer flights – is key.
This electronics travel pouch is the perfect way to get everything nicely – and beautifully –  in one spot.

An everyday leather pouch (with monogram) is the perfect thing to collect things in your carry on AND double as a clutch at your destination.  I pack this Gigi Leather Clutch full of in flight essentials for my carry on and use it on my trip as a clutch.

Don’t forget your vitamins on your trip! This travel pill case is compact and would make the perfect stocking stuffer!

Eye Mask  – Neck Pillow – A nice eye mask and neck pillow are travel necessities! This is an adorable option, but for more practical – this is my go to eye mask and inflatable neck pillow for travel.

A great gift for anyone would be this eye mask that comes with collagen eye patches for perfectly rested eyes!

Passport Cover + Luggage Tags – I know passport holders are “pointless” but they are so, so fun! I love this I’m outta here option. A striped option is always a classic.  I love this Available for Weekends option, which is also available in a set of luggage tag + passport holder   And monograms are of course always a good idea.

For the men, this is a great leather option that anyone young or old would appreciate.

Travel Jewelry Case – Don’t end up with tangled or broken jewelry upon arrival.  A travel jewelry case is a must! This one makes a great gift that I have given over the years, and this carry-all option is great for necklaces.

Away Suitcase – I mentioned this in yesterday’s gift guide for the guys, but Kip loves his Away Suitcase.  I haven’t been able to use it for a solo trip yet, so I can’t give my full opinion.   The biggest perk of these is definitely the built in cell phone charger. (You can monogram the away suitcase too!) You get $20 off your order with this link.
Other suitcases:
I have always had my eye on the Vintage looking suitcases, especially the navy, and love that these can be monogrammed.  And the Delsey luggage is so classic looking and beautiful too (and 50% off right now!)

This is the longest I have gone without a flight in years most likely!
I am antsy to get to the airport later this month just from making this post!

:: Gift Guide : For the Guys ::

Don’t forget to check out my previous gift guides as well :
MONOGRAM JEWELRY LOVER // LAZY GIRL // OPRAH’S FAV THINGS

BOSE SPEAKER // YETI TUMBLER // BULLDOG ICE MOLD // SLIPPER MOCCASINS // FULTON AND ROARK 2-IN-1 SHAMPOO BODY WASH // YETI COOLER // VEST // PULLOVER // PERSONALIZED GOLF BALLS // AWAY SUITCASE // ATHLETIC SHIRT // KEBAB GRILLING BASKETS // CASHMERE BLEND HALF ZIP // LULULEMON SHORTS // LEATHER PHONE CASE

Ice Mold – The giant ice cubes became a huge trend in cocktail’ing a few years ago, and for good reason.  They are great and a must have to keep your drinks nice and cold.  Now they have all kinds of different shapes.  For the UGA Fan in your life, the Bulldog Ice Molds are perfect!! Other great molds are golf ball molds and mustache molds. When you need an easy gift or a stocking stuffer, or even something for the Christmas party games these are a great option!

Fitness Shirt – Even if your boyfriend/husband/dad/brother don’t work out very often, they are like women : We all like to wear comfy workout clothes, even if we aren’t working out, and especially because it makes it look like we are healthy and work out. Kip loves this long sleeve shirt and it has lasted about 5 years despite wearing it constantly.  This is a great dri-fit short sleeve option, too.  Everyone loves a hoodie too!

Lululemon Shorts – These are the only workout shorts Kip wears.  Also last for a long, long time!

Vest – Vests are always a great layering piece and particularly useful when the weather is constantly up and down! I love quilted vests that have a little extra contrasting with some texture.  This slightly dressier vest is 35% off and looks just like one I got Kip that he wears constantly. This is also a great sportier option. Find more vests here!

Away Suitcase – You’ve seen these suitcases everywhere! One of the best features is the built in phone charger –  a must when flying and stuck without access to charge your phone.  My husband has been using his for about 2 months now and loves it. (He has the bigger carry on!) At first he wasn’t sure about not having the outer zipper pocket, but especially with the compression pad it comes with, he realized that he is able to fit enough for his week-long business trips just fine!
I also love that you can monogram them!
** use this link to get $20 off your order

Fleece – Every guy needs a good fleece to wear for weekend errands, and I am partial to these Patagonia Fleeces.  For another option, I looooove the Vineyard Vines pullovers – this one is a bit more casual and this one is a great option for dinner and out!

Cashmere Half Zip – Who isn’t a sucker for cashmere? To give the gift of yummy-softness on a budget, this under $60 cashmere blend half-zip pullover is the perfect gift.  It comes in a ton of colors, too, so your options are endless!

Fulton + Roark – This is a group of mens grooming products that I think are particularly great for the guy on the go.  My husband has the combination 2-in-1 Shampoo and Body wash in his gym bag.  They also make solid colognes which are perfect for a gym bag and especially for traveling guys to keep in their dopp kit.

Slippers – when in doubt, slippers are a gift everyone will use and love.  I always like the ones with rubber soles,  so that you can walk outside to get the mail or take the trash out and not have to change your shoes.  The Ugg slippers are always a great option, but these are under $50 and seem just the same!

Kebab grilling baskets – These are so neat! Grilling baskets for your kebabs! Perfect for the man who loves to grill (and if you’re local, and your husbands a killer griller, come over for a date at our house because Kip has come along way, but he still could use aallllot of help)

Leather Phone Case – A great stocking stuffer option, or for the man that walks around dangerously risking shattering his phone every five seconds (which is most guys based on my observation) this leather phone case looks nice and holds your credit card to boot!

Vice golf balls – Instead of giving the golfer in your life a regular sleeve of golf balls, show you put some thought into it with personalized golf balls! You can put any writing or any logo on them, but you also can put pictures! These also make a great gift for grooms gifts!

Speaker – Portable speakers are something you would think everyone would have, but so often no one does! And it’s so nice to have a small one that can go anywhere! These portable Bose speakers are small and lightweight but pack a big sound punch – and the price is great for them.  AND it’s waterproof! It comes in black and another color, but I love the navy.

Beverage Holder – This would be a great gift for the college age or twenty-something that lives with his roommates and throws a great Tacky Sweater Party every year.

Yeti Cooler – The gift every man wants.  Nothing says you love him like a Yeti!

Yeti Tumbler – When the cooler is out of budget, every single person will LOVE having the tumbler. Truly my favorite thing I own, although this is a mens guide.  I wake up the next day with ice cubes still in my drink, and this is perfect to have at work! (also perfect at the beach to keep your cocktails cold even in the 100 degree heat!)

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

I always mean to mention – like, for A YEAR – and always forget – but if you haven’t signed up for EBates yet, DO IT.  You get so much great cash back on everything!
You can use this link for an instant $10.

It’s great because at the sites you already shop, it will let you know any coupon codes and apply them for you, and you get cash back just for shopping.  Pretty much every site has it, from Shopbop to Amazon to J.Crew – all of it with the exception of Nordstrom.   It’s been a game changer and I am SO MAD at myself for not starting using it years ago!
