:: Traveling in Style ::

Happy Monday!

My friends are still in town through today, so today I wanted to share some of my recent travel finds that I am lusting after.
I am in the market for a new suitcase, because unfortunately 3 years later mines already completely ripped to shreds.  We got this carry on off our wedding registry which I see so many flight attendants using and my brother in law that travels every week uses and loves, but ours at only 2 years in were completely destroyed.  I hear that the hard case suitcases are the way to go; do any of you have recommendations for a carry one size suitcase?

I have always loved the suitcases with the leather details, and of course anything I can monogram I love even more.

LEATHER DETAIL CARRY ON   // CARRY ON SPINNER    //  LEATHER DETAIL CARRY ON

Of course my hunt for the perfect *monogrammed* suitcase led me down a path of a million other things I just have to have.
A few other travel items to love:

 I learned on our trip to Italy that packing your carry on with lots of different pouches is key to staying organized and finding everything easily.  These are perfect for holding all of your tech accessories and more.

// COMMUTE CLUTCH  //

Packing cubes were also a huge, huge lifesaver for fitting 2 weeks of clothing into a carry on.  We still use these for every trip we take.  Ours were simple, but this monogrammed set is too cute!

// NYLON PACKING CUBES //

Perfect way to store all of your jewelry and accessories.

// DUAL LEATHER TRAVEL ORGANIZER  //

A good crossbody purse is always a must, and for our Italy trip was essential.
This one is the perfect size, and the perfect price at just under $100.
The navy is my favorite.

// DAILY MINI CROSS BODY //

These little beach bags are just adorable.
The straw purse with poms, also monogrammed (!), is under $50!

// RIO TOTE   //  AMALFI CLUTCH //

I always get lots of e-mails asking about Packing for Italy or trips abroad;  see my post here.
I also always, always, always recommend using this bag in addition to a great carry on suitcase.

Also, I’m very sad that we have to wait one more year for this meme again.

But happy first day of May.

:: Friday Randoms + Link Love ::

Cheers to Friday!!

I have two of my favorite couples in the world staying with us for the weekend!

Our besties from Chicago that we practically lived with, and one of my best friends from college and her hubby-to-be that we just visited in March in NYC!
They all arrived last night and are here until Monday morning.  I can’t wait for a full weekend with them!

:: LINK LOVE ::

Bravo has released their show line-up, with SIX NEW SHOWS in the mix.
Read all about it in the link, but some surprising new additions:
“Frederik and Bethenny Property Project” (working title) : them as business/real estate partners together (editors note: this could just be awful)
“Sell it Like Serhant” : Ryan Serhant from MDLNY comes t the aid of stuggling sales reps (editors note: this WILL be just awful)
“Relationshep : follows Charleston’s most eligible Shep Rose to various cities across the country on the hunt for love (editors note: seriously? awful. but I’m sure I’ll watch. this is pathetic).
Southern Charm New Orleans (don’t forget Southern Charm Savannah starts Monday; I don’t think it will hold a candle to Charleston but we’ll see)
and two other dating based shows…..

A perfectly pink athleisure sneaker.  Love these.

This striped beauty looks like it costs way more than $88.

Floral + Strappy Open Back = Yes Please.

WASHING your handbag to bring it back to life? This terrifies me.

Such a pretty back on this under $100 midi dress.

My love for all things J.Lo will never end. Check out her new $40 Million Bel Air Mansion.

The hemline and bow back of this dress amp up a simple black or simple blue dress to the next level.

I laughed so hard at this clip :  Leslie Jones plays Truth or Lie with Dr. Phil

Something about crochet swim cover-ups gets me every time.

This high/low top is perfect for now, summer, and all year round

A fun budget friendly summer clutch.

I’m obsessed with all of the fun and colorful clutches that are popping up everywhere!
A few more summer clutches that are SO CUTE and even MORE affordable!
  one  //two  //  three // four  //  five  //  six  // seven  // eight
If you need some new workout tunes : Harley Pasternak’s Celebrity Workout Playlist

These drawstring + tassel palm printed shorts are a steal.

I love the front tie and print on this romper.

and this one is screaming “take me to Italy!”

Don’t forget that my friend Megan is offering Free Sunless Tanner with ANY order through Sunday!

It’s the perfect time to try my beloved Lash Boost or some of the incredible eye cream to see for yourself what just using ONE product can do.
I am truly in love with it and so happy that I finally bit the bullet.  (And Megan’s services come with no stalking or annoying commonly affiliated, promise, ha!)

 Oh, and if you see me at Johnny’s Hideaway this weekend, where I am of course taking them,
I apologize in advance for my actions!

:: COFFEE TALK 4.27.16 ::

discuss amongst ya-selves…….

:: BACHELOR NATION ::

I normally don’t begin Coffee Talk with The Bachelor when the show isn’t currently airing, but the biggest news to ever shake #BachelorNation has occurred.  And it is SHOCKING.  Like, Jack from Will and Grace, Jaw on the floor, OH. MY. GAHH shocking.

Chris Soules, aka Farmer Chris, the Bachelor that just giggled like a school girl all season and didn’t say or do much of anything, was involved in a fatal car accident and arrested for fleeing from the scene.  I was shocked.  This does not sound like Farmer Chris.

So that news was announced Tuesday, and now there is Audio of Chris calling 911 and reporting all of it and checking for a pulse on the man and everything. So I’m confused? Someone please inform me of what the heck is going on? He called it all in and then fled? Who does that? How did he get home?

:: SOUTHERN CHARM ::

Thomas is having a Polo Party at his place, and he enlists Landon to throw it.  She acts like putting together a bar of booze is being a party planner and that it’s in her blood.  “I love food, flowers, cocktails; it’s in my blood it’s how I was raised.” Um. Okay? I think every girl ever could say the same thing but hey, what do I know.  I can also guarantee you made none of the food at this shindig yourself, there are men carrying in all of the booze for you, etc, but hey, what do I know.
This whole episode is about Chelsea, Cameron’s friend, and who she is sleeping with slash making out with slash wants to sleep with.  Will it be Shep or will it be Austen? Both of them don’t seem like much of a catch to me, but I guess it gives a girl a story line, so she’s hanging in there.
ALSO. How did I not know that Chelsea was a runner up on Survivor? I guess because I don’t watch Survivor, but shoutout to my mother who has never missed an episode. (6 Things to Know about Chelsea here).

At the polo party, Thomas completely avoids his children, despite his daughter screaming “daddy” 10 times. So sad. Carpenter Craig completely calls him out on his sheyite.

Slow Clap for Craig.  Then he continues talking about it to everyone at the party nonstop, which is Thomas’ party ,which makes me again go back to “Ughhh Craig. Just drop it.”  Even Naomi gives zero eff’s about this situation.

Chelsea goes on a date with Austen and I actually think she would be perfect for Austen OR Shep.  It’s nothing but giggles and nonsense talk and chugging mind-erasers.  (or whatever the Charleston version of a mind-eraser is).  I’m judging, if she is actually looking for a boyfriend, but not judging in any way shape or form if she wants to be my BFF.
Because that sounds like a real fun date. Next round on me.

This whole episode is truly about switching back and forth between Chelsea + Shep and Chelsea + Austen.  But we get these amazing tidbits in between like Landon saying THIS GEM : “I’m not like Craig, when have I ever had a hairbrained idea? I’ve been successful at everything I’ve ever done.”
the best is also just the way she speaks saying these words.  her voice!!!
Um.  What?  Since appearing on this show, I have no idea what you have done.  She adds in “Well except my marriage” and I’m thinking, no one is even thinking about your marriage; we are just trying to figure out what successes you are referring to?

Shep has a 37th birthday party on a boat and invited Kathryn this time, since Landon has been demoted as his party planner. (She does not attend. Damn.) Cameron informs Shep that if he doesn’t watch himself, he’ll end up like Thomas.  Cut to Thomas, sitting alone with his beer, on the phone with the nanny talking about how maybe he’ll be home in two hours, because he has no interest in going home to see his children.  (Yet it’s always “Thank God for T-Rav raising those kids!” fro, everyone.)

Landon brings her 24 year old boy-toy and it’s just SO awkward every single time.  So. Awk. Ward. Especially with her constant awkward giggles. (insert Kathryn:” You sound like a Dolphin!” which is actually one of the smartest things Kathryn has ever said.  And it came with one of her winning facial expressions so it’s extra special).

Kathryn got a new interview outfit….. annnnd it’s another Herve Ledger Bandage Dress.
This one is much better than the purple so I’ll give her that.  But why always a bandage dress? Are we hitting up a club in Las Vegas following this interview session??

The majority of the party is just back and forth of who is Chelsea going to pick, and then cutting over to Thomas and Whitney, the least sexually attractive people on the boat hands down, acting like they can get any woman they want and creepily giggling like Beavis and Butthead while cruelly judging women’s looks and ankles from the corner.

Thomas is pathetic; truly what girl would sleep with him ever?! Or not even that, who would let him buy her a drink at the bar?! A 5 minute conversation with him isn’t even worth a free drink!  Ugh.  He’s awful.

P.S. Cameron just announced she’s pregnant!

:: RHOBH ::

Bunny Gate Continues.  Insert Eye Roll.
Rinna is just truly insane (I know that’s all I ever say, but it’s true)  and wants to make everything into the scene of the century.   Regarding the gift of a stuffed animal being handed back to her :  “This is the cruelest thing anyone has ever done to me.”

WHAT? A person you can’t stand handing you back a stuffed animal?

There is an “F off” voice button that Rinna pulls out, which was so stupid, and a lot of back and forth between Kim and her while Kyle looks like she wants to rip Rinna to pieces.  If looks could kill!

Rinna says that Kim just wants to be on the show and that Rinna is her “meal ticket”.  Kyle’s defense if that her and her sister were the first two original housewives cast for the show.  I mean, I see both sides.  But Kyle, come on. We’ve come a long way from that.  The talking about Kim and her sobriety is the only thing she has going on with this show, and Rinna constantly bringing it up IS kind of her meal ticket. Literally.  Kim does nothing.  I wish Rinna would learn that the best revenge WOULD be to just keep her lips shut, and make Kim irrelevant again.
(I love how Kim tries to act later in the show in a little argument with Eileen like she is some super serious working actress.  It was quite hysterical.)

Eileen really has found her voice and wants to start some beef all around this reunion though! From things as tiny as Kyle saying that she doesn’t think Rinna can keep her big lips shut being super hurtful (come on! that is not hurtful! Rinna is hurtful!) And then taking it all the way down to Kim with the soap actress versus regular actress, which I loved, because Kim just looks like an idiot acting like she is some big huge actress versus Eileen who is on the TV screen 5 days a week and has been for years and years and years.    But okay Kim….. sure…… Escape to Witch Mountain is totally relevant and you are A SHINING STAR!

There’s more with LVP and the dogs (refuse to watch), Max finding his birth mother, the drug accusations with the Xanax Smoothie and the Cocaine at the Dinner Party at Dorit’s.

But nothing too crazy.  Well, more Rinna being coo coo crazy and quite the betch but that is just her this season.
More importantly…..

The one thing that had the biggest impact on me this week involving RHOBH was learning that Eden dated Jesse McCartney, and SERIOUSLY,, for 2.5 years! They froze EMBRYOS together and everything!

I think they both were alcoholics at the time,  or at least she was – she hadn’t gone into AA yet and did right after they broke up.
I mean, my mind is BLOWN.  How was this never mentioned during the season? Have I been living under a rock?!

:: MAZEL OF THE WEEK ::

Were you not obsessed!

:: JACKHOLE OF THE WEEK ::

Dancing With the Stars, for allowing Maks and Heather from Glee to get kicked off.
They were AH-MAZING. I am devastated.  Watch their final dance, which received 4 perfect 10’s

Sorry for keeping it short this week,;
I have several houseguests arriving for a fun filled weekend today!

I write these posts late at night while simultaneously watching Bravo, taking snaochats of my snoring husband, and making to do lists of everything I was supposed to do and didn’t do that day, and likely won’t do the next day either.  Or the day after that.

:: Wish List Wednesday ::

I have some exciting news to share!
I think I hinted at a big summer trip, but don’t think I had shared where to yet!
Kip’s family has a wedding in ITALY in July and they are taking everyone along for a family trip!
We will be in a town outside of Lake Como for the wedding, and then staying in that area for a week!

Obviously my mind is already on clothes for the trip! But I’m also just so excited for summer dresses and bright colors, prints, and florals to be back in the picture!  So, prepare for a very girly wishlist this week!

I feel like I need something for the wedding that I sweat my tush off in, as it will be July and I am unaware of anything regarding the wedding or if there will be AC….. so something lightweight that won’t show sweat incase we are outdoors!

While I hunt, here are some of my favorite summer inspired bright and sunny finds for the week!

:: My Skincare Routine ::

I have been debating this post for months now!  The main reason: because I didn’t want to share a before and after because WOWZA do close up’s of your face where you aren’t smiling really knock your self confidence down a notch (orrrrrr 12.)
I mean….. in some of these photos tucked safely on my phone, I look like Charlize Theron in Monster.
I would insert a funny gif from that movie, but nothing about that image is funny.

But I digress…… so I decided to finally share what I have used and loved, but perhaps wait on some of the selfie shots 🙂

ALSO, let me say that Romana played a big role in me deciding to share my use of these products.  That’s right, Miss Pinot Grigio “The Apologizer” Turtle Time Ramona Singer.  In the first episode of the season, when she is seductively walking her contractor through her home in a neglige and a face mask, I couldn’t help but notice that Rodan and Fields was on the counter and that the mask she was wearing must be one of theirs.  So a quick google revealed that yes: She has expanded her empire from cross necklaces, to Pinot Grigio, ,and now to Rodan and Fields.

and that is when I knew…. the Bravo-Gods were sending me a message. Sure, she’s insane, but so am I, and her skin is looking pretty darn good if I do say so myself.

Let me preface all of this by saying : I do not sell Rodan and Fields, I personally pay for every single 60 Day Delivery, and I started using it in September 2016 (7 months ago) when my Melasma and sun spots were at an all time high.  I wanted to wait and give it time to give an honest opinion.

About 3 or 3 and half years ago, when Kip and I were engaged, I started noticing something on my upper lip.  A ‘stache.  But not one of hair.  Far sexier.  One that you can’t wax away!  A darker upper lip.  It started so slowly that I thought I was imagining it.  But sure enough, especially after sun exposure, I could see it.  My husband said I was crazy ( he is blind) and it progressed to a darker upper lip with a dark, dark brown line where someone would apply lip liner.  It made me nuts!

I had confided in a friend about the lip, and she texted me one night (Super Bowl Night…. that’s how much this affected me, I remember it perfectly!) that a girl there was talking about the same thing, and that it was called Melasma. Good old Melasma.  For most women, this only happens to them during pregnancy because it is related to your hormones.  But lucky me! Months before my wedding I was getting some ‘stache action!

I learned about the importance of avoiding the sun and started smearing SPF 50 on my upper lip any time I would exposed to the sun and it helped, but it never went away.   I learned the only thing to really get rid of it is an intense laser – which was not an option for me to go into hiding post-laser – and also that even with the laser, once you are back in the sun, you take away the effects of the laser treatment.

So I got smart about smearing the stick of super high SPF and got on with it. But over the last 3 years, it spread to my forehead where it turns into a brown spot that as it darkens looks more and more like a heart (I try to find the silver lining – how precious! A heart on my forehead!).  And also a large spot on my left cheek bone.

So, finally, after last summer where I was in the sun constantly after moving home to Atlanta and having a pool in the backyard, I decided that when summer ended I would do something about it.  And I reluctantly bit the bullet and gave Rodan and Fields a try.  It had a 60 Day Money Back Guarantee on the products, so I figured it was worth it to give it a shot.

I took the horrifying close-up before photos September 5th, and haven’t looked back.  It has worked WONDERS on my wrinkles, brightness, complexion, and most importantly,  has helped more than anything ever has with my Melasma.  For me it is worth every penny, and my 60 Day Supply always lasts me longer than that.

I waited 7 whole months before ever saying I used it because I wanted to make sure it was something I really loved.  And again, I pay for it and none of this is an advertisement . Just me being happy with the product!  I know it’s annoying to see it advertised everywhere, and you may have friends that have nagged you to try it, but for me, I’m really really glad I tried it.   I have been using their “Reverse” this whole time to help with the dark spots, but I am going to add in some of the “Redefine” on my next order to help more with the wrinkles.

I had used the Philosophy Anti-Wrinkle Creams before getting R&F, and kept using them in addition to it.  I have just now run out of the jars.  I really liked them, but am open to trying something else if any of you have recommendations!!
(Oh and I also used these retinol pads once a week and really liked them!)
I like the R+F Sunscreen for daytime but needed something else for my nighttime moisturizer.

For Make Up Remover, I am so glad I started using the Simple Miscellar Make Up Remover because I love it – you all were 100% right with your rave reviews about it!

I just finished up this whole bottle of Peter Thomas Roth Retinol Fusion PM.
My mom had gotten it and given it to me, and I really love it.
I use this on my neck and chest, but it can be used on your face as well.
I will be ordering another bottle ASAP.  I love, love, loved it – and it lasted a super long time too!
It feels so good on your skin and I swear it has helped my chest lines in a big way. (I thought the perk of a small chest is you don’t get lines like this, but NOOPPEE. 30 comes knocking and it all goes downhill!)

My latest and newest switch is from NeuLash over to Rodan and Fields Lash Boost.

I waited until I was all done with my NeuLash bottle to switch, but I was excited to try it not only because I had heard good things,  but because Latisse and NeuLash always irritated my eyes.

When I was engaged I used Latisse leading up to the wedding and it made my lashes SO LONG but it made my eyes SO RED. And itchy.  Friends and family would ask me what was wrong because it would look like I had been crying. This is when I discovered under eye concealer (a little late in life) and started using it to cover up the redness.  Why I didn’t just stop using the Latisse I have no idea. Oh…. I was a Bride-to-Be and dammit I wanted lashes! (it’s called false lashes for the day of, but again, I’m a moron).

Then I heard about NeuLash and switched to that and really liked it.  It didn’t irritate my eyes the way that Latisse did, but it did still leave them very red in the corners as if I had spent a ton of time rubbing them.  Again, I wanted the long lashes! So I kept using it.  It was better than the Latisse so I figured why not.

I was interested to see if Lash Boost would cause the same problems.  I am 4 weeks in, and there is no irritation.
I started with every other night to try to get my eyes used to it for the first two weeks, so I’m sure that helped, but now I use it every night and have no problems.  It’s super easy ,just one sweep across each lash line and ready for bed.  I can already tell that it is working – they are longer and slightly thicker – and I am excited to see what happens at week 8 and 12.  I will share my results for that (cough: as long as I can find a selfie where I don’t look like a a lunatic!).

My friend Megan offered a lovely deal to you when I told her I was finally going to share my skincare routine post!  And just in time for the warm weather –
Free Sunless Tanner with any order through the End of April!

I also think this deal is amazing because I have heard about 25 people say their friend so-and-so annoys them to buy product, so a perfect solution is to go through someone that isn’t a friend because you know they won’t drive you insane and hassle you!
Just a thought 🙂

The tanner retails for $26 and is 4.2 ounces, it promises zero odor and no streaky orange color! The photo above is from one of her customers.
I haven’t tried the tanner myself yet, but I’m going to be ordering some of the eye cream that seems to work wonders to get the free tanner sent my way, and I’ll share my results when I do!

As I said earlier, I use the Reverse Line currently from R+F, but they have a lot more products than just what I use, and have anything you would need to focus on whatever is most important to you about your skin :
Anti-Aging, Acne Prone Skin, Age Spots, Sensitive Skin, etc.
They have a little Solution Tool where you can answer questions to find out what regimen is best for you.

If you aren’t wanting to commit to skincare,
but have thought about trying a product to make your lashes thicker/fuller/longer, I highly recommend Lash Boost.  As someone who used Latisse for about 8 months, and Neulash for at least a year and a half, Lash Boost has already far surpassed them by NOT making me look like I’ve been crying or haven’t slept but still gives me the lash help that I desperately need!!

Feel free to ask me any questions in the comments or e-mailing me!
I mean…. I basically look like Christie Brinkley now.  It’s unreal.

Well…. maybe not Christie Brinkley…..
but at least Ramona ……

And you can visit Megan’s Site to get more information, or shoot her an e-mail at macorgan@gmail.com
for a FREE TANNING LOTION with any purchase through the End of April!

:: The LBD : Little Blue Dress ::

I hope you all had a great weekend!!

Mine was a great one.  Kip had friends in town for the music festival, I managed to squeeze in a Friday workout at Blast and a Saturday morning Spin Class at Burn (with Bejay – my favorite instructor there), and had a housewarming party and dinner with friends.  It was gorgeous Friday and Saturday so luckily that made up for a completely rainy and awful Sunday.

If you recognize this dress, yes, it was so nice I bought it twice 🙂 I loved the white and when I saw they had a blue I knew I needed to snag it.
It is also 40% OFF too making it only $50! So how could I not!
And these gingham shoes are so stinking cute.  The description online calls them “12 hour shoes” because they have injected insoles for heel stability and comfort pads.  Surprisingly, and happily, I can feel it and it’s true! For 3.5 inch heels, they are super comfy.  I can’t wait to wear them with other dresses and to dress up jeans.

  // BB DAKOTA DRESS //    // GINGHAM HEELS  //
dress runs large, go down a size !

Over the weekend I wore my striped one shoulder dress, but belted it, and I like it so much more with the belt!
It’s also on sale for only $26 and is available in all sizes!

// ONE SHOULDER DRESS //
runs TTS or can go down a size because of elastic waist! I went down a size
