:: Tuesday Thoughts ::

Today’s post is just all over the place.

I am a monogram lover through and through.  If it isn’t moving, put a monogram on it!
Moon and Lola always has such gorgeous pieces. I have a pair of their monogram stud earrings that Kip gave me for Christmas one year, and I am always falling in love with more and more.

I follow them on instagram and when I saw this finial I freaked!

How stinking cute is this!!??
They have so many design options for the monogram and for the finish.
I’m of course in love with the tortoise shell!

For any brides to be, this monogrammed hair clip is GORGEOUS.  It’s a little pricey, but would perfect for a special touch on your wedding day.

A few food related items :

One of my new favorite grab-and-go meals is this salad from Trader Joes.  I make my own mustard dressing since the dressing is more calories than the salad itself, but it is delicious and super easy to take to work if you don’t have time to pack a lunch.  I add grilled chicken when I have it on hand too.

Next up on my “Recipes to Make” list is this Skillet Cheesy Chicken and ‘Rice’  from Skinnytaste.    I’ve been on a cauliflower rice kick lately and this will be a quick meal to whip up.

I’ve been too lazy to make the full version of the “Tone It Up Bombshell Spell/Meta D Drink”, which is a metabolism boosting morning drink with apple cider vinegar and grapefruit juice.  Instead, I’ve just been mixing the two and throwing it back shot style.  (editors tip: Channel your inner 21 year old when you used to be able to take shots like a pro and not be completely repulsed.)

I made my mom’s famous chicken tetrazzini when hosting girls night last month…..

and all I think about when I make it or say it is that amazing Maury clip involving Chicken Tetrazzini that Joel McHale would play constantly on The Soup.  I really miss him and The Soup.  He cracked me up.  (He also did a glorious job playing Whitney clips frequently, like the shopping for sunglasses clip or just the classic screaming of “BOBBY!!!”).

I really want to add all of the Joel McHale clips as well… but I’ll save you.
I mean, the things you learn at The Sarcastic Blonde. The education is top notch.

A few clothing related things :

This dress from last summer that I got in several colors has been on repeat again.
It’s so comfortable and easy to throw on and run errands.
It’s under $35 and comes in a gazillion colors and prints !

// SWING DRESS //

 I love this tortoise shell necklace from J.Crew and the way that they layered it with another large piece.
// TORTOISE SHELL NECKLACE //
Isn’t it so stinking pretty!?!?
// TORTOISE SHELL NECKLACE //

Not surprisngly, I fell in love with this blue + white cropped top when looking for Italy wedding options. The material is tissue thin – it’s heaven.  I was hoping to find a skirt to match it as an option but so far all the skirts have been too heavy or just not right.

// STRIPED SHELL //

I love this bracelet set for summer!  So fun and a great price for all 5 bracelets.

// BRACELET SET //

My sister and I went to lunch at JCT kitchen and went to some antique/consignment stores afterwards to peruse.  This mirror was on sale for only $199 and I was SO in love with it!   I honestly don’t know how I walked away from it.
It was either at Stanton Home Furnishings or Sarah Cyrus right next door – one is consignment the other is not; the non-consignment store had gorgeous pieces too!

I have become a huge Harry Styles fan without even realizing it!
Two songs I am completely obsessed with right now are his off of his solo album.
I had no idea the song ‘Sign of the Times’ was his and I am loving it.

I also am loving “Sweet Creature”

Unfortunately I won’t be seeing him live because apparently his tour sold out in mere SECONDS!!

Since I have been spinning regularly since January, about 4 times per week, I decided to get a pair of my own spin shoes.  My friend that has her own spin bike said it would make a huge difference and she is right! I wasn’t even trying full out my last two classes since I have been getting over being sick and they were some of my best numbers ever.  It is so much less work (more effortless if that makes sense?) when it actually fits your foot and the cleats/bindings are tight.  I couldn’t believe the difference. And I am so glad to not keep putting on the rental shoes… putting on a still warm shoe just makes the hygiene freak in me repulsed.
I got the shoes off of Zappos and went to Peachtree Bikes to have them put the cleats on.

// SPIN SHOES //

As I was writing this post the doorbell rang and it was my Uber driver from Saturday night! I had left my hat in the backseat of the car and he used my initials to go through his past trips to find who it belonged to and drove all the way over Monday night to drop it off.  Can you believe it?! So nice!

and luckily Kip was with me or else I wouldn’t have answered the door (don’t worry Mom) and I would have felt so bad! Any one else never answer the doorbell EVER? but especially at 9 PM.
Flashbacks to that recent movie commercial were already playing in my head……

And with that, all of my ramblings for today are done!

fashion, weekend recap

:: Weekend Recap + Old Faithful ::

Hope you all had a great weekend!! Mine was pretty low key.  Kip was away for a mens golf weekend up at Chateau Elan, so I had the house to myself! I stayed in Friday night to try to rest and kick the last of my cold/sinus infection and finished 13 Reasons Why.  I’m not really sure what I think about it? It’s not that I didn’t enjoy it; I’m glad I watched it I guess, but other than Clay, no one was likable and I certainly pray high school kids aren’t as horrible as the characters in this show.

I went to a friend’s Derby Party Saturday and luckily found an old, old J.Crew Dress to wear.  Almost all of my summer clothes are still at my mom’s house, except for the few I knew I wouldn’t wear last summer that got packed in the wardrobe boxes for the movers.  This is why I have a hard time getting rid of clothes I never wear – because SOMETIMES I do wear them again, like in this instance! (things a clothes hoarder tells themself.  it’s applicable for about 1/50 items I should toss)

// GINGHAM SHOES // PINK NECKLACE  only $13! //
// JEAN JACKET , back in ALL sizes and 40% off! I wear a small + it has a slightly loose fit //
and my shoes are currently 40% off!
everything at Gap, Old Navy, and Banana is 40% off through tonight!

They had the cutest cake + cups!

It was freezing and raining on Friday, so I used the opportunity to run a few errands.
I had ordered a dress from Dillard’s when it was all sold out elsewhere that ended up not working out and I took it back to return.  I don’t know if I have ever been in a Dillard’s, but the amount of sales + things I found amazed me.  It was crazy!  They also had a lot of great brands I never knew they carried like H Halston, Trina Turk, Michael Michael Kors, and tons more.  I liked a line that I think is “their line” called Gianni Bini too that I had never heard of – so many cute clothes it blew my mind.  I think I had been unfairly judging Dillard’s!
I found a striped dress to hopefully wear to a friends wedding on clearance from over $150 to just $48!! And about a million other things that I walked away from.

// STRIPED DRESS //

and I don’t have anywhere to wear this, but this dress is on sale for $57!!! FIFTY SEVEN! Ralph Lauren! I couldn’t get over it. Seriously it was deal after deal after deal at Dillard’s. Who freakin’ knew!?

// RALPH LAUREN GOWN //

I ended up on a massive hunt for a dress to wear to the wedding in Italy. I don’t know anything about how fancy it is, which is making it hard to shop, but I definitely don’t want to be underdressed.  I also need something that I can sweat my tush off in and it won’t show, in case we are outside for part of the day.   I am trying to find something light weight and long, or a midi length at the shortest.   I keep thinking something floral or printed or a lace??  I’m trying to stay away from solids because sweat could show more easily 🙂  My friend got married outside in Michigan last August and I learned the importance of a dress not showing your sweat.  Thank GOD at the last minute I changed out of my tissue thin turquoise dress (which I do love!) into a heavier lace dress because it would have showed ALL of my sweat when I stood up from the ceremony.
Lesson : sometimes thin and breathable isn’t the best choice!

Some cute pieces I saw, for Italy + just for summer in general!

I also snuck into Old Navy to take a look around. My friend and I were talking about how we are obsessed with it lately because you can always always find something great and she called it Old Faithful, so I am stealing that and now refer to it as Old Faithful.
I usually go in and see what I like because sometimes their items look completely different different in person.  And then I try to never buy anything in the store.  I always wait until they do a sale of at least 30% off, but usually 40%, and whaddaya know! Yesterday the 40% off arrived and it’s good through tonight. So then I order with the huge discount and the free shipping.  All of their pieces are always SO inexpensive and then the sales make it that much better!!

My favorite sunnies are back in stock.

// OLD NAVY SUNGLASSES //

These striped off the shoulder pieces look just like much more expensive designer items I’ve seen.

// STRIPED OFF THE SHOULDER TOP  //
  // STRIPED OFF THE SHOULDER DRESS //

This fabric on this off the shoulder felt much more expensice and it had the perfect amount of stretch.  A great go-to striped tee for such a great price.

// STRIPED OFF THE SHOULDER //

// LINEN BLEND SHORTS //

This striped cardigan is super thin and lightweight, perfect for summer.

// OPEN CARDIGAN //  also comes in solid colors

// BLACK ONE PIECE //

// T STRAP SANDALS //

// FRINGED CLUTCH //

They also had so many cute new workout pieces!!

// TROPICAL LEGGINGS // MERMAID PRINT LEGGINGS // NAVY LEGGINGS //

and from the Gap, I just loved this cardigan for summer.  The colors are so pretty!

// CARDIGAN //

Hope you all have a great start to the week!!!
My cough is gone, but I’m somehow still stuffed up, so I’m thinking I may have a sinus infection not just a cold? I couldn’t handle not spinning any longer though and went spinning over the weekend, so I am excited to get back to my workout class routine this week.
After a very indulgent April I am trying to have May be another “30 Day Challenge” where I workout everyday.  Last week, I just did my Tracy Anderson DVD everyday and walked on the treadmill because the only cardio I could handle was walking.  So for now I have managed to do something every day! Hopefully this week I can step it up with the spinning and this congestion will go away for good!

:: Striped off the Shoulder + Link Love ::

Cheers to Friday!
And Happy Cinco de Mayo!

I am looking forward to a low-key, low-booze, laid back weekend
after having a fun filled weekend of yeas to every french fry and cocktail last weekend!
#Balance

fast forward to me at a derby party eating my face off….

Everyone asked about my wine cooler from our party last weekend and where it was from.

It’s from this incredible local spot.  Every time I go I find something I want.  And the prices are insanely amazing.  It’s called “Nancy’s”.
As in….. my Mother’s.  Sorry to disappoint. I had to say it that way because when my friends were in town everything they pointed to and asked where I got it I kept saying my mom’s so I changed it to “Oh that!? That cute store I told you about, Nancy’s!”

My parents found it at a second hand store 15 or 20 years ago.  So of course, I have no way to find another!
I rounded up a collection of other beverage coolers for you to peruse though! And I am on the hunt myself for one just like it, so if anything even better shows up you’ll be the first to know!
// BEVERAGE COOLER //

Something not from Nancy’s is this adorable off the shoulder top!
Zara can be really overwhelming, but it’s worth it for the amazing pieces at inexpensive prices that they always have.  I snagged this top last weekend and am so excited to have it for summer. It would be perfect for any Memorial Day/4th/Labor Day party!
I wore it with these fun earrings – I got them in navy but they come in several cute colors and I may have to get another color myself.  There are only so many dangly earrings I feel comfortable in, and these are lightweight and can be dressy or casual.
everything I am wearing with the exception of the sandals is under $50!

// ZARA OFF THE SHOULDER TOP //  // CARNATION EARRINGS //  // WHITE JEANS //
// TORTOISE TORY SANDALS //  // SUNGLASSES (ON SALE $8!) //

I love the cute little ties on the sleeves, too!

And I really do love all of the colors of these earrings…. I’m trying hard not to snatch another color!

// CARNATION EARRINGS //

:: FRIDAY LINK LOVE ::

The CUTEST pink New Balance sneakers in ALL sizes for only $65.

Kate Middleton’s stylist got married, so I loved to see what her dress looked like!

A pretty floral raincoat would be perfect right now for all this rain!

Eden confirms she is not returning to the RHOBH next season (to the surprise of likely no one).

I want to live in this tie neck top.  I can see myself in it already.

This 3 day spring detox actually sounds delicious (don’t worry it involves food and chewing!)

 Such a fun colorful print with a peplum hem (and bows!) – perfect to pair with shorts or jeans.
They have the same print in this gorgeous skirt with a side bow too.
ooo! and this scarf!! I can’t get enough of this print.

The goop fast food guide.

Love this twist on the straw handbag – so fun. (and this blue version too!)

Jimmy Kimmel crying while talking about his son’s health crisis really pulled my heartstrings.

This suit looks identical to Cameron’s adorable one from Southern Charm!

Blue and white stripes + poms + a dress is all I need in life.

I mentioned Monday I had no idea what the theme was for the Met Gala because people were all over the place, so this article informed me of it and who blatantly ignored it.

I am obsessed with this bikini – simple, clean, sexy.

Kourtney K steps out with a 23 year old boxer.

Chambray slides for under $20!

I’m really ready to know more about this whole Chris Soules situation.

These sandals are such an amazing dupe for the designer pair it’s crazy!

Happy Cinco de Mayo and Have a great Derby Weekend!

Cheers to many margaritas with friends and no hangover mañana!

:: COFFEE TALK 5.4.17 ::

DISCUSS AMONGST YA-SELVES…….

:: SOUTHERN CHARM ::
I appreciate Lady Elaine’s Whitney’s “baggage” metaphor with T-Rav.
“You’ve got your baggage, then your overhead baggage, then the baggage that doesn’t fit in the overhead bin, and so you have to check it outside the gate.”   It might as well be Shakespeare.

Hashtag Carpenter Craig is not helping to change anyones opinions of him when he orders a sewing machine and says he loves to sew.  But I guess it’s a better distraction than talking to Gizmo the cat.

Kathryn hasn’t talked to Jennifer in 7 months because….. oh, right: because Thomas passed her a hankerchief when she was crying at the reunion taping. Seriously. That’s what all the anger from her is based on.

Jennifer is saying she has been a little preoccupied with things in her life.
“I was pregnant with a baby that may live or die.”
To which Kathryn responds…..He handed you a hankerchief!
It’s unbelievable. It’s all about Kathryn.  The way she sits there with that smug face while Jennifer talks about her son crying is horrible to watch.

In response to Jennifer discussing her son and his birth defect:
“Of course I feel sympathy for her but after seeing what happened between her and Thomas this just seems fishy as well”
WHAT!!????
“That is manipulation in the purest form.”
No words for her.

Landon and Austen go to lunch together, where she makes it clear to Austen that he has to hide her “Roam” status so that she is treated just like everyone else and not like the big restaurant-travel-critic the world knows her to be.  She is so delusional lately? I love that he calls her out on the pretentious stuff.  Only Aspen is high class enough for her; she scoffs at Vail. Why is Landon acting like that this season?  If you think that taking a date to Aspen is how you decide if you like them, you probably shouldn’t have divorced your rich ex-husband sweetie.

She is super concerned over a conversation between her and her 9 years junior boy-toy Drew when she mentions New York:
“Whats’ the big park there?”
“Central Park?”
“Yeah that one!”
Yes, I realize the stupidity of this comment, and the clip with his facial and tone and all of didn’t do him any favors in making him seem any more intelligent, but of course this is why Landon can’t date him…. not because of the million other obvious reasons.

Carpenter Craig is trying to buy a home as a rental property, because he thinks his sewing habit and lack of license to practice law somehow means he has extreme expendable income.
The delusions of this boy! I swear!
Craig takes his gardening skills into the kitchen to recreate his favorite scenes from Rom-Com’s.  He tells us that he’s a pretty good catch and that Naomi should consider herself lucky.
Riiiiiiight…. she is the lucky one.
He then decided to tell Naomi that on top of still not taking the bar he is going to start a clothing line.
Craig then says  “I want to have a rental property by the end of the week. I want to check that off the list.
This is how I work; as soon as I write something down I need to work towards it.”
Um……
…. silence….. and laughter from Naomi…..

Craig, I know you think you’re some huge successful grown-up, but even your big romantic gesture for Naomi is AT HER PARENTS HOUSE.  I meannnnnnn.
Naomi is like “DO YOU WANT TO BE A LAWYER YES OR NO” and his head just starts spinning! How dare she ask a question like that!   And then he acts like a spoiled bratty teenager and says Naomi is being stupid for telling him straight up facts about his lack of motivation and his ludicrous beliefs about his success.

:: PATRICIA’S CAFTANS ::
Oh. Em. Gee.
I caught up on about a weeks worth of WWHL with my-boyfriend-andy-cohen this week and saw the episode with Patricia from Southern Charm (and Kelly Osborne who we just won’t even discuss because I barely made it through the episode. I can’t with her.)
Patricia showed up wearing a personalized dog caftan, and now has a line called Patricia’s Couture.

Yes, that is real.
And yes, she is acting like this is couture.
How on earth could this woman think that is couture?
I of course went straight to the website and LOOK WHO ELSE.

GIZMO THE CAT ON NAOMI.
I really can’t.
I just wish it was Craig in Gizmo pajamas like the Wacha pajamas she made for my-boyfriend-andy-cohen.

PLEASE go to the website and check everything out.  Here is the product description:
Patricia’s Couture by Sherina combines crystal and pearl embellishments
in a custom caftan featuring your very own pet
(dog, cat, horse, bird, even fish). So versatile, this caftan, handcrafted in India,
can be worn from the beach to a barbecue to a cocktail party or black tie event.

Did you hear that!? A Black Tie Event! Your wedding dress hunt is OVER LADIES.
And all for only $299.
I mean…. $299 for COUTURE?!
It’s a STEAL.

:: REAL HOUSEWIVES OF POTOMAC ::

Let’s break this weeks episode down….
ohhhh I jest.
Seriously, who of you watches this? I know there must be some, and I promise it’s no judgement! You are a better woman than me. I just can’t.

:: REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ATLANTA ::
I also don’t watch this show…. but I think I am going to watch the reunions.  I feel like Atlanta reunions always hit another level, and not gonna lie, the commercials really do grab me.

or maybe I’ll just watch the gifs instead…..

:: REAL HOUSEWIVES OF NY : LAST WEEK’S EPISODE ::
I hate that I keep missing or barely commenting on NYC because it airs Wednesday nights when I am trying to wrap this post up!  When my husband is in town, it’s just too hard to watch because he makes me go to sleep like a parent instead of letting me stay up watching TV in bed all night and selfishly pretending he can’t hear it 🙂 Also, I’ve been trying to work on this whole thing called “sleep” which is just obnoxious.

But I’m hoping that I can do “last weeks housewives” and it’ll work.  Kind of like in college at Miami of Ohio when the lunch spot uptown had “yesterdays soup : because it’s always better the next day”.  Hopefully this will be better the next week?
editors note : I know I know….. we’ll just pretend.

So last week we pick up at Ramona’s dinner party.  The dinner that Ramona ENTIRELY made herself obviously.  Because she won’t even fetch her guests a drink, they have to make their own at the bar, but she’ll totally slave in the kitchen over a full meal for 20? Riiiiiiiight.
The show doesn’t waste a minute and goes straight into Dorinda going NUTS on Sonja for the things she has said about her over the past year, but most recently what was just printed in the papers.

I love Sonja’s full delusion about life.  I kind of want to be as delusional as she is.  She is going on and on about being invited to LuAnn and Tom’s wedding but not being able to attend.  The BRIDE is sitting DIRECTLY ACROSS from her and saying “No, Sonja, you are not invited and you were never invited.” And Sonja will just keep rattling on “of course I’m invited I just sadly can’t make it!”  It’s hilariously entertaining.

However, despite how delusional Sonja is, or how much sheyite talking behind Dorinda’s back she did, I do not think anyone deserved to be attacked the way that Sonja was.  I mean, some of it is just natural Dorinda, but even for Dorinda it reached a whole new level!

It was baaaaaad.  Carole was trying to calm her down at the end of the table saying she was hitting too low and Dorinda would agree and then go straight back into it.  I did laugh at the Grey Gardens “Edie upstairs” comment, and laugh really hard, but it was mean and unnecessary.  (I meannnnn, I may still be laughing about it, but IT WAS WRONG)
Through it all, Sonja remains calm as a cucumber.

I love how Bethenny just gets to decide to do or not do whatever she wants.  It’s like be in it or don’t be in it.  Be on the show or don’t.

The whole point is for you to be involved in it, not to get to pick and choose what you will and wont participate in based on when it’s on your turf or you feel you have the upper hand. Only Bethenny (and NeNe and Teresa) are able to have as much as control as this.

I couldn’t believe that Candace Bushnell of all people played such a role in this episode.
She was the lucky recipient of this gem :

And she was also part of the green vest brigade at LuAnn’s brunch at her house.
The next morning, at LuAnn’s brunch, it’s as if all that Dorinda said was “this bothered me” and they both are like “Yeah! Past in the past! Over it!”
WHAT? But I mean…. good for you?

Tinsley and Sonja have their first spat over Tinsley hanging out with Sonja’s friends without her.  I sense a struggle coming.  But Tinsley has nowhere else to live, so I think she’ll just keep bowing down to Sonja.  Who knows, maybe she’ll even wash Sonja’s lingerie in the bidet for her.

Next week (slash last night since it will have already aired) is Carole’s election party (that she uninvited Ramona to after judging Ramona for uninviting Sonja from staying with her in the Hamptons)
and SPOILER ALERT : TRUMP WINS.

:: BRAD PITT in GQ ::
Brad Pitt opened up about his divorce + more in the new issue of GQ.  And lemme tell ya, it was weird.

Please see 12 Funny Twitter Reactions to it for pure comedy.
My favorite is “he sounds like Hansel from Zoolander” because YES.

:: THE MET BALL ::
In case you didn’t hear, the place to be at the Met Ball was the bathroom.

I mean…. this seems like the whole party alone.

:: SECOND WIVES CLUB ::

Starts tonight on E!

:: SWEET HOME OKLAHOMA ::

The finale was this week…. BUT I was excited to see that more episodes are coming back in July.  I like it for a silly, quick, light-hearted show where the women are actually friends and love and support each other.

:: JACKHOLE OF THE WEEK ::
I have not been a fan of Nancy Kerrigan all season on DWTS because, well, I’m not a fan of Nancy Kerrigan.  When she got kicked off this week and Grandpa Rossy stayed her face was SO BITCHY.  Looking straight at Rossy her face said “are you kidding me? he is staying? what a joke!”

Listen Nance.  In no world are you Maks and Heather, not even close, and they got kicked off last week. So consider yourself lucky you get the one extra week and save the ‘tude.  Mmmk thanks.

:: MAZEL OF THE WEEK ::
To my-boyfriend-andy-cohen for getting THE BUNNY!

Editors Note :
As always, ignore my own blatant grammatical errors whilst I make fun of others poor grammar during Coffee Talk on a weekly basis.

I write these posts late at night while simultaneously watching Bravo, taking snaochats of my snoring husband, and making to do lists of everything I was supposed to do and didn’t do that day, and likely won’t do the next day either.  Or the day after that.

:: Gluten Free Pasta Salad + Tuesday Things ::

There’s a little bit of everything today, with a recipe, a weekend recap, breaking down the MET fashions, and more.

Thank you all for the celiac/gluten-free friendly restaurant recommendations last week!  I wanted to share the pasta salad that I made for our BBQ over the weekend that is completely gluten free. I pinned it from Caycee’s blog about a month ago when she said she had made it and loved it.   Honestly, you would never know the difference! I love to use brown rice noodles, the kind that come in the bag, as my pasta alternative.

The real key for this pasta salad is the seasoning mix.  I will be making and using this for all future pasta salads, it is what added so much flavor.

Gluten Free Pasta Salad
Author: Taylor // The Sarcastic Blonde
Recipe type: Side
Cuisine: Italian

Gluten Free Pasta Salad that's full of Flavor, perfect for any BBQ.
Ingredients
  • 1lb gluten-free short cut pasta (or regular pasta if dish does not need to be GF)
  • 3 Roma tomatoes, seeded then chopped

A little recap of the weekend with our friends in town :
Our friends arrived Thursday night, with the last one arriving at 1:30 in the morning (poor thing) because of delayed flights!  Of course when I opened the door I was dressed in the exact same outfit as my one friend.  No surprise.

Saturday while the boys played golf, the girls and I went to Ponce City Market.
I still had never gone, so I was excited to see it!  It is such a cool space with lots of cute shops and restaurants.
We had lunch at Minero which was delicious!  All of their tortillas and chips are homemade each day.
We were able to sit outside in the beautiful weather.  I highly recommend the queso fundido.   I had the salad with steak which was also great, but warning that it was seriously spicy!

After lunch we went up to the rooftop.  They charge $10 which I thought was a little ridiclous, but oh well.  We got a drink and enjoyed the views.  They have lots of games you play, a bar, and a full restaurant with another bar as well.  It would be a very fun date night spot!

We went to Gypsy Kitchen at The Shops of Buckhead for dinner Friday night, and long story short, ended up leaving after some Sangria Pitchers and a meat and cheese plate.  Our waiter was highly intoxicated, slurring his words, and gave us a platter of food that could have sent my friend to the hospital based on her severe allergy.  I feel bad saying it, but that really is the short version.  It was unlike any dinner experience I have ever had.  Had there not been a serious allergy, it would have just been hilarious and unbelievable.  However, that being said, I will go back another time when we don’t have to worry about the food because the menu looked great and I loved the atmosphere and the patio.

We walked down the street to Blue Moon Pizza and sat outside and had a perfect dinner al fresco!  After that we took everyone to Johnny’s Hideaway which they all loved!
Johnny’s is always good for a fun night out of singing, dancing, and people watching with friends.

Saturday we hosted a BBQ at our place!

We tried to end the weekend with a slightly healthier brunch to make up for our weekend of gluttony.  Sunday brunch was at True Food Kitchen – I got the poke bowl and loved it. Also loved their hummus (best gluten free pitas ever) and their edamame dumplings.  And no weekend is complete without a stop at the cupcake ATM!

The Met Gala was last night and I never really know how to say what looks I loved or didn’t love because the point isn’t necessarily to be “pretty”.  Some people were wearing pretty looks that could be for an Oscar or Emmy night and others were all over the place.  I feel like they need to make the attire for this more clear!

I loved Gisele, Diane Kruger, and Emily for a more traditional look.  And I surprisingly liked Kendall and Kylie for a sheer, non-traditional but still not insane look.

Katy Perry won strangest of the crazy looks to me.  And Jaden Smith carrying his own hair a clutch was just insane…. but again, perhaps that was right on point for this evening? It is just hard to tell when no one is even close to the same dress code as the next guy.

 I am currently nursing a killer cold/sinus infection.
Any tips other than the usual chugging water + tea, rest, etc, send my way!
This week is going to be a long one!
