If you are anything like me, Wedding Season has already begun or is right around the corner!

We have 2 weddings in July, 1 in August, and 2 in October! I love a wedding as much as the next girl, and I love a formal dress even more!  Some of my favorite dresses I have worn to weddings over the years have been midi or long and I’m excited to have a couple weddings that are black tie optional to get to really dress up again!
(I love the short summer wedding guest dresses too, so I’ll share some of those next week!)

Out of all of these, this dress is probably my favorite.
I think it’s timeless and classic but with a bit of fun with the open back, and the neutrals make it work for so many different occasions.  Plus, this is always the most flattering cut on everyone!

:: The Summer Sandal sent from Heaven ::

So many of you have e-mailed me about big trips you have coming up to all kinds of amazing places abroad.  Packing is always one of the biggest questions, and in my opinion, the most important thing for a trip like that is a great pair of shoes, especially when lots of sight seeing is involved.

But even if you aren’t traveling, who wouldn’t want adorable sandals that are also so insanely comfortable that it is not to be believed?!

I spent weeks hunting for sandals the last time we went to Italy and my friends had recommended these sandals which were super comfortable and never gave me a single blister.  I would definitely still recommend them!   
I also found a steal version of those sandals, 1/3 of the price and great reviews! 

I found the most perfect absolute dream pair of sandals.
You probably think I am joking.  I am not. Just read the reviews from every one else too!
I squealed out loud – loudly – when I put these on my feet.
They feel like walking on clouds or having pillows strapped to the bottom of your feet.

They come in 4 colors and – warning – are selling fast!  When I saw all of the reviews for how incredible these were, I hunted everywhere! I had anticipated them to be comfortable because they are Cole Haan’s and they are known for their incredibly comfortable shoes, but when I put these on…..  Oh my goodness.  The level of cushion and padding in these is unlike any other pair of shoes I have ever worn.  (Brides…. wear Cole Haan’s if they make cute heels….. I wish I had thought of it because my Kate Spade’s were cute but a killer.)

I think a Cole Haan monster has been created. Why have I never owned them before!?
I found these brown leather mules on sale at Nordstrom Rack and couldn’t pass them up.
I had been waiting for a pair of mules for a long time and love the wooden stacked heel.

They are available still in all sizes and are on sale for under $100!

I know, I know….. it’s exquisite.

My husband found that gorgeous blue and white shower bath mat at Costco…..

weekend recap

I hope you all had a great weekend!!!
Mine was so fun and I am so exhausted physically but still on cloud 9 mentally.
One of my best friends from Chicago, and the lovely lady that introduced me to my husband because they are great friends from college, was in town visiting for the weekend.  She left Chicago for DC about a year before we moved to Atlanta, so I don’t get to see her when I’m in Chicago either so it was such a treat to get a whole weekend together. And the weather cooperated and we had gorgeous weekend outside!

She flew in early Friday so we drove straight to Ponce City since it is on the way home from the airport and I wanted us to spend as much time outside as possible!   We grabbed lunch, did some shopping, and had drinks on the rooftop.

We did happy hour at the house and went out for dinner in Virginia Highlands.
Saturday was such a fun day and we once again got to spend tons of time outside. We went to Ladybird for drinks while we waited for a seat outside at Superica at Krog Street.  I love the vibe of both of these places so much.

I had never been to Superica at Krog Street and hadn’t had their brunch but had heard amazing things.  Oh my goodness. I think this is my favorite brunch I have had yet in Atlanta.  Even Kip, who never is easily excitable about food, said it was amazing.  That’s always my true test.  My friend got the Huevos Rancheros and loved them, Kip got a steak and eggs dish, and I got the Breakfast Tamales.  Hollllllly my Goodness.  It was so freaking amazing.  And they all come with this huge sides of beans in skillets smothered with cheese and a side of warm tortillas.  As if we needed more food!

There is a private airport in Brookhaven near our house and we had heard the restaurant and bar there was a fun spot (and a good brunch apparently too!) . We have always talked about going to the airport bar down the street from our house but have never gone.  So we figured we would swing by.

It was a cute spot and fun to sit and watch the planes take off. It definitely had the average age of about 87 years old when we were there in the middle of the day, which was kind of fun actually.   We definitely want to go back to try brunch sometime and it was fun to do something different for a little bit.

It was an amazing weekend that was perfect and so good for the soul – there’s nothing like being with one of your closest girlfriends that you don’t get to see very often, and her and Kip are so close so it is always that much better.

Sunday Kip and I spent some time planning our trip.  Our AirB&B we had booked was getting a little weird – the host was asking lots of questions and seemed to want to know way more information that he should need to and kind of creeped us out a bit – so we have a request for a new one in the Jordaan area in and hopefully the woman will respond today that it is still available!

I always try to detox for the week after indulgent weekends like this, and this one was REAL indulgent, and the 7 Day Slimdown from Tone It Up starts today.

I will be trying to follow the plan as closely as possible! Kip and I polished off a whole box of Lacey’s cookies as I was typing this post in preparation for Monday morning’s “diet starts Monday” so we really need to lock it up and get some self control back into our lives.

I had only ever seen these at Whole Foods, and finding them at Trader Joe’s is equal parts amazing and horrible.

I popped in to Old Navy while I was running errands this morning and found a couple of things on super sale!
This purse is perfect for our trip next month.  I want something light and easy and that I won’t care about getting smushed or maybe damaged – and a $20 cute purse that is the perfect size fits the bill.  This can easily fit my daily necessities and will likely be able to fit our camera as well.
(I hate having to wear the camera like a nerdy tourist around our necks!)

Cheers to Friday + The Weekend!

One of my very best friends from Chicago, who now lives in DC, is flying in today to visit for the weekend! She is one of Kip’s best friends from college as well, and actually the person that introduced the two of us,  so we both are so excited see her and take her around Atlanta and veg at the house together.

It’s been hot hot hot this week and this romper has been the perfect thing to wear to survive the heat. It even has an open back for some extra ventilation 🙂
