:: Wish List Wednesday ::
lusts for the week……….

This looks like a separate sweater and skirt, but I love that it is all one piece (and it looks so much more expensive than it is).

// FAUX LEATHER FLOUNCE DRESS //

A tie in the front AND buttons down the back AND gingham?!
Be still my heart.

// GINGHAM TOP //

I’ve been wanting/needing a cute bralette for some time;
this one has great reviews, is well priced, and comes in a bunch of colors.

// BRALETTE //

how CA-YUTE is this sweater!? adorable.

// POM CABLE SWEATER //

This isn’t your standard LBD.  And it’s a great wear now/wear later option, too.

// TIE FRONT DRESS //

This bow-back sweater comes in 4 color options and gives you the Kate Spade look for a fraction of the cost.

// BOW BACK SWEATER // also has a striped option!

If you’re on the hunt for an inexpensive gown,
this is UNDER $100 ! AND comes in several colors!

// V NECK LONG GOWN // comes in several colors
also found this gown under $100

I feel like this is the perfect carryall bag for winter;
it has a removable cross body strap option and comes in 3 colors.

// CROSS BODY PURSE //

I get so many compliments on a faux-layered sweater that I wear all fall and winter long and am always on the hunt for more.  I love this similar style for a layered look without the bulk!

// LAYERED SWEATER //

also love this layered option with the stripes !

// LAYERED PULLOVER //

I did an instagram survey for what sneakers are best, and the biggest responses were Brooks, Asics, and Nike’s. I’ve always had a hard time with Nike’s coming off my feet when I run or something being off with the fit, but maybe I need to get them another shot!?
(comment with any gym shoes you love please! I really need a new pair!)

// NIKE SNEAKERS // killer reviews on the hunt for pink
another pink sneaker I have my eye on …. and another – I keep finding them and really want a pink pair!

I never say no to a maxi;
I love the oversize floral print and neckline of this dress.

// FLORAL DRESS //

These fancy flats look super lux but are an affordable treat.

// EMBELLISHED FLATS //

I adore this emerald green gown so much.
Why is wedding season over for us!?

// BELTED GOWN //

I can never get enough workout wear and am really into
the mesh inset detail in these leggings.

// WORKOUT LEGGINGS //

You can never go wrong with a navy fit and flare.

:: Quilted Winter Coat + GG Fiber Crackers ::

January 9, 2018

:: Quilted Winter Coat + GG Fiber Crackers ::

In Chicago, I wore the same “uniform” everyday for 6+ months.  The black North Face puffy coat was on at all times, and I matched every other girl in Chicago from November to ______ (far too long).  My husband would accidentally walk up to people in the grocery store thinking it was me because every girl in there would be in her boots and black puffer.

Needless to say, when we moved to Atlanta I was very excited to hang the black puffer in guest closet.  I got this quilted navy jacket during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale in 2016 and am going into my second winter loving it just as much.  When it was freezing over New Years at the cabin, this baby kept me nice and warm despite being lightweight! It is like a puffer coat, with without the giant puff!

I love the brown faux-leather accents in the piping and in the shoulder pads; I feel like it gives it a little bit of a preppy touch.  I was so excited there was the option of navy instead of black, but if black is your thing they have that too, and it also comes in a gorgeous green color.
And if long coats aren’t your thing, they also make it in a short version.

It’s now *ON SALE* a couple different places!
Oh, and my sunnies are a total steal at only $15!

// JEANS // SUNGLASSES, only $15 // old boots (sorry!) //
// RALPH LAUREN QUILTED COAT //

I wear a size XS, runs slightly large, I still have enough room for a sweater but nothing bulky like a thick sweatshirt
35% off and available in black and moss green
& almost identical coat but with different pockets available here
& also available 40% off in a short version for under $100
& green short version available here
& slightly different pockets, but all sizes and more colors of short version available here

……sorry for all the options, but wanted to share them all! I really love this coat!

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

I am (hopefully) en route to a morning workout class as this post goes live, trying to make good on my resolutions and not give up on Day 2 🙂 I really am treating this week like it is the first week of January and last week didn’t exist….. no judgements…..

I’m going to share a food journal and meal and snack ideas, but wanted to share something new I have been trying since December (I shared this on instastories.  I bought these GG Fiber Crackers (available at Whole Foods + Amazon) after hearing about the F-Factor Diet on The Skinny Confidential Podcast.  (I listened to a bunch of Kelly Leveque Podcasts after getting her book Body Love and it led me to Skinny Confidential – some episodes are better than others but I love her health/wellness/fitness episodes).  The F Factor Diet is all about fiber to keep you full so I figured why not give the crackers a try!

For Christmas I brought the crackers with me to the beach to make “everything bagels” for breakfast as my smoothie replacement since I knew I would be eating and drinking garbage the rest of the day.  They are great with some light cream cheese and the Trader Joe’s Everything But The Bagel Seasoning.  Even my family – who does not get on board with most of my healthier snacks – enjoyed them.  The seasoning is key because the crackers taste like nothing.  You just have to use them as a “vessel” for something else (i.e. use them as the “bread” in a breakfast sandwich).

Each cracker has 4 Grams of Fiber and only 20 Calories and no Carbs.   So they’re kind of a win win!
The other way I’ll use them is as croutons in a salad. I just put them in a zip lock bag and smash them with a wooden spoon.  Sunday night we grilled some fajita steak and I added it to my salad with the GG Crackers.

A third and final way I had been waiting to try them was as “pizzas” which they show constantly on the F Factor Instagram stories.  It was the National Championship FB Game last night so I thought it was the perfect time for some “pizza”.

I did some with Pesto and some with Rao’s Pizza Sauce and they were delicious!
And definitely use the Rao’s – it is the tastiest yummiest sauce ever and the sauce that is recommended for no additives preservatives or added sugars.  It’s worth every penny!
I tried to not use much cheese so that I could see if I actually liked them instead of only tasting cheese, and they really were good!! don’t get me wrong, it’s no delicious real life pizza, but it satisfies the pizza fix!! I’ll definitely be making them again later this week!

I know, I know…… gorgeous food photography, right?!?!

Do you have any easy, healthy recipes that you are loving!?
Or any great accounts to follow on instagram?!

:: 2018 Intentions ::

January 8, 2018

:: 2018 Intentions ::

// DAY DESIGNER PLANNER // MAKE SH*T HAPPEN AGENDA //

Wellllllllll I guess now that it’s the first FULL week of 2018 it’s time to lock it up
and pretend realize this is going to be my best year yet.
With the two weeks of traveling at the end of December, New Years hangover, and a first week adjusting back to life, I am finally ready to embrace the new year and all that comes with it!

Since last week Sunday and Monday were holidays,
I feel like this is the first real week back so technically I’m still on time (??)
editors note : see below for resolutions such as stop lying to myself, stop procrastinating, and start getting sh*t done in a timely manner 🙂

Oh… and don’t worry….. Watch Less TV is NOWHERE on this list.

:: Home ::

Organize, organize, organize – I am determined to make this the year that I get (and hopefully stay) more organized.  Things look clean and neat when you walk in the house, but behind closet doors and inside drawers it is just mayhem always! On the rare times I organize a drawer or closet, it is back to dissaray in no time.
I’m hoping to tackle the following areas one at a time : Master Closet, Master Bathroom, Guest Bedroom Closet, Office/Guest Room, Office Closet.

Good Will/Consignment Purge – this will go hand in hand with the closets, but time to not only organize but do an annual purge.

Keep my Car Clean – I feel like this stresses my husband out because I really couldn’t care less, but it would be a nice gesture with him in mind 🙂

Cook One New Recipe a Week – I “make” dinner every night, but I wouldn’t necessarily consider it cooking.  Lately we have been in a veggie burger with salad kick for dinners, so that involves chopping, but not much cooking.  A goal will be for one new recipe per week.

:: Personal ::

Print more Pictures – I take so many pictures but I never print them.  I want to get tons of pictures printed and put into frames for around the house.

Inbox Zero – My e-mail mindset is always to “Mark As Unread” so that I have whatever email as a reminder to do something, but it just ends up staying like that. I have no idea how I will accomplish this, but I really want to! Last year I got my e-mails narrowed down to TWELVE.  But then they sprung back up to the 50 something range.  I would LOVE to end each day with Inbox ZERO.

Read One Book Per Month – I was so, so great at reading a new book a month (or more) in 2016, but 2017 saw many more laptop evenings than books.

Sleep Hygiene  – Year after year….. will I ever learn to embrace good sleep hygiene? I sure hope so. I was so exhausted this past week I was lights out at 10 and it felt GLORIOUS.  But feeling tired at night is a rare occurance around here….. especially when my husband travels for work and I stay up SUPER late. and speaking of sleep…..

Get up Early a Few Morning (2) Each Week – This is a year after year goal as well….. I am not a morning person, especially after my late nights.  I’m hoping that just two days a week I can get up early to either work out or crank out some blogging before work.  It’s so nice to be done with a workout first thing in the morning!

Track all Expenses for an Entire Month – Everything.  Every single thing. I of course check my online banking regularly, but I never pay attention to the total daily purchases of everything from gas to groceries to smoothies etc.  I’m hoping the month will turn into a regular habit and the same way that I track my workout I will write down my daily spend (my planner below has an area specifically for it!)

Savings – Going hand in hand with tracking expenses, stick to my savings goal per month.

Decorate – A house is never done, but I feel like we definitely need to get more art on the walls, especially in the two guest bedrooms.

:: Fitness ::

Morning Workouts
– 2017 was a great year for me becoming dedicated to a regular fitness routine and I feel so, so much better every day because of it.  Along with my “wake up early 2 mornings per week”, I want to designate at least 1 morning per week to a pre-work workout.  I would love if that number went up to 2 or 3, but I am going to be realistic and start small.

Diversify Classes – Keep up the spin classes, but get back into Pure Barre and Sculpthouse and keep changing up classes! Last year’s resolution was to try new classes and I found Blast which I love and Sculpthouse too.

Do another 31 Day Challenge – I did a 31 Day Challenge January-February of last year and loved it.  31 Days of working out for 30-1 Hour+, with 5 classes per week.  It really kicked my butt into gear, but most importantly it made me realize it is NOT that hard to fit in a workout on a daily basis.

:: Blog ::

Photography : I’d love to take a Photography Class to really learn how to use my camera.  I have been watching some YouTube videos and reading posts to try to get better with it.

Productivity + Planning Ahead – This is all about my procrastination again…. I love blogging so much, and I love writing things the night before, but I need to work on really putting together an editorial calendar and getting work done in advance.

Proofread – ya know…. I get tired of reading my own nonsense!! and I just go to sleep….. especially with Coffee Talk it’s just ALL over the place

Get more Personal – This is an intention every year, but I shy away from it every time (no pun intended but I just PROOFREAD and saw it :)) I share photos and weekend plans and what I’m doing, which yes is a lot, but I don’t open up the way others do and I know those are my favorite moments when reading other blogs that I love.  I’ll keep trying!

alright but moving on………

OH WAIT…… and of course…..

:: 2018 Planner : The Day Designer ::

I am a planner NERD.  I love notebooks and planners and markers and stickers and basically anything else that makes it look like I have my sheyite together when really I am just still procrastinating and doodling with colored pens.

The past two years I have used The Simplified Planner and really loved it, but I thought I would try something new to change things up.

This year I got The Day Designer Daily Planner – Original Mini .  The mini version is basically the same size as the Simplified Planner, so I can’t even imagine how big the full size version is. I’m planner obsessed.  I always have 2+ planners, one for my agenda and one for my food and workout log.  This year I also have a THIRD planner to keep track of blog notes and ideas separately.
This year of course I am hoping to not only look organized, but actually BE more organized.

You can order The Day Designer from their website, but they also have all of the planners – the full size original or the “mini” like mine – straight to your door in 2 days from Amazon! (and the mini is like a full size…. it’s almost the same size as The Simplified Planner is at about 7×8.

It comes in a gorgeous blue box with gold lining, and then the planner itself comes in this storage box.  I’ll probably use this box for reciepts and things like that since it’s too nice to throw out (see above with organized hoarding and not liking to throw things away…..and needing to purge….. yet keeping this box……)

A feature I love is that they have a full page for notes on the tab for each month, so you can jot down important tasks for each month all in one easy to access spot.

A must for me with planners is to have a full page for each day.  I like to write down anything and everything so I love that there is enough space for that.  A few features each day, all of which I love :
– A top three, to list the top 3 things for that day,
– A full to-do list
– A spot for what is due that day
– Dinner
– Dollars
– Don’t Forget
– Daily gratitude
– A daily quote
– A spot for notes

You clearly can fit so much all on one page!

Saturday and Sunday are combined into one page.
I love that there is a spot at the bottom of this page for a glance at the week ahead so you can jot down any additional things for the next 7 days, too.

Thanks for indulging me in my nerdy planner love 🙂

alright 2018……
I’ve got my three planners, my fancy fine tipped colored markers, and what I think is a small but hopefully enough amount of determination to crush my goals…… so,

:: Asymmetrical Snap Pullover ::

I know you’ve probably seen this pullover all over the past few months.
If you’ve been debating whether you should snag one or not, trust me, the answer is yes.

I started with one, and now have three.  don’t judge……
I wear it as frequently as I wear my leggings (which, let’s face it, is far too often).

They are so cozy for lounging, are perfect to wear over your workout clothes to and from the gym, and look just as great with jeans as they do with leggings! They’ve been re-stocking often lately!

// ASYMMETRICAL SNAP PULLOVER // I wear a size S

I have this rose color, the grey, and the navy….. but now I keep eyeing the green…….

Happy Saturday!
Last week I posted this purse to my instagram but never posted it here on the blog, so I figured what could be better during snowy, chilly weather than dreaming about the next warm weather getaway?

I have rounded up similar options to this purse that I am IN LOVE with, and some other resort wear to go with it!  This purse is the perfect vacation and beach purse for now, and then of course when summer finally arrives! It also has an adorable navy and white striped lining, and holds so much more than it looks like it would.

// STRAW CROSS BODY BAG //

I wore it in Grand Cayman with this pom-detailed dress below.

Cheers to Friday!

Thanks for being patient with me the last two weeks while I unplugged and enjoyed vacation time with my friends and family 🙂  I don’t think I’ve ever looked at my phone and laptop less and it was glorious.  And instead of stressing about it, I decided to just let it go as long as possible.

The blog will be back to regularly scheduled programming next week,
but in case you missed the past few posts:

The Golden Globes are this Sunday! I can’t wait to hunker down and watch! The official cocktail of the Golden Globes sounds absolutely delicious!

THE MOËT 75

3 oz Moët & Chandon Imperial Brut Champagne

1 oz Volcan Tequila

2 oz fresh blood orange juice

1 oz honey

Preparation: Shake tequila, fresh blood orange juice and honey into a cocktail shaker and mix until honey is dissolved. Pour mixture into a modern tulip glass. Gently pour chilled Champagne. Garnish with a candied blood orange slice or fresh blood orange slice.

Served: Straight up; without ice

Garnish: Candied blood orange slice or fresh blood orange slice

Pour up and get ready for some (hopefully) fabulous fashion!!!

:: FRIDAY FINDS ::

These tights are supposed to be the one pair every girl needs in her closet – and I know everyone, everywhere seems to be cold and snowy right now! I read an article that they are worth every single penny and the only pair you’ll need!

Ob-sessed with this clutch.  in my favorite color, too.

These were my travel pants to and from the beach, and I am in love with them.  so glad I stepped a wee bit out of my comfort zone.  (size down one! another reason I love them :D)

THE perfect striped tee.  under $25.

This wrap dress looks just like my favorite from fall, but is in a stretch Jersey fabric (yes please!) and is the same amazing price.

If you need a going out top that will last in your closet for years to come, and that will always be flattering, this is it.

In love with these scalloped heels; they’re the perfect substitute to the plain nude heel.

This fancy top looks uber expensive but is under $100

Under $100 one piece that I am seriously lusting after.  Gorgeous.

A great lace inset cami to wear on it’s own for a night out or layer for daytime.  (love this fun one too, and it’s only $29!)

The only belt you’ll need to buy this season.  And it’s a steal!

A great wear now and later dress option.

If you just got a fitbit for the holidays or are back on the fitness wagon, these new fitbit bracelet covers are gorgeous

A great under $100 sweater coat to layer

Love the wrap front and deep v of this sweater

The asymmetry of the side tie makes all the difference for this under $40 tee.

The constrasting stripe on these bikini bottoms reminds me of my favorite bikini top!

Is it summer yet so I can wear this culotte jumpsuit?

The “Tay” dress that Meghan Markle wore to Christmas lunch is on sale and not sold out!
