Weekend Snapshots

As I said yesterday, we flew home to surprise my brother-in-law for a party celebrating finishing his MBA that my sister threw for him. 
 It was a great weekend, and it was so nice to be home because I didn’t think I’d be home again until Thanksgiving.

believe it or not this becomes extremely competitive in my house

the parking meter before brunch that 
took us over 10 minutes to figure out
they really need to take notes from chicago 
and kip’s favorite aspect of the trip,
beer in mason jars and you get to keep the mason jar

ready to go back already! 
at least we have michigan this weekend to look forward to!

Monogram Monday

I flew home this weekend for a surprise party and family time,
 and it was absolutely perfect!
{except for the lack of sleep that was had}
 I’ll have some pictures tomorrow, but for now I’m just leaving you with a Monogram Monday since I haven’t done that in awhile.

Oh yeah, because he seems like he would just be the best boyfriend in the world – so sweet and respectful.  And definitely no STD’s.

 although this one below terrified the hell out of me.

I have a major Girl Crush on Olivia Munn.  She is hilarious and every interview I love how inappropriate she can get (or tries to get). 
How cute are her and her boyfriend? 
I guess he’s the upcoming Robocop, and for that alone I approve. 

NYC Housewives:
The Miami trip is just a ridiculous train wreck.
Can EVERYONE please turn on Ramon-er already? 
If she yelled at Aviva one more time about her damn fake leg being in the pool I was going to lose it.  
Something tells me a dumbass like Ramona doesn’t know much, 
particularly about how to care for a prosthetic limb in water. 
Aviva’s only response:
“luckily she stopped, because if she kept going I was going to have to tell her what I thought about her bathing suit.”
Ramona really does need to learn that not everyone on that show should be rocking a bikini. 
Speaking of bikinis, ummmm please let me look like this later in life 
especially post-kids

AVIVA’S DAD – I have no words.  You know how you let old people say whatever they want? No matter how offensive or how inappropriate? They are old and have lived a long life – they deserve it…… 

This rule does NOT apply to the sexual topics he spoke about all night.  I feel like it takes a bit to offend me, but I would have slapped him across the face.  So, so nasty.  It passed funny the first second he opened his mouth.

this may be a way for us to not be able to tell at all how much weight you’ve lost? but this also looks horrifying on you, and makes it look like you are still 9 months preggo?

she just seems sweet as pie. 
I never say anything nice during Coffee Talk,
 so thought I’d change things up for the end today.  
I’ve also been crying like a baby watching the Olympics. 
you have a heart of ice if you haven’t.

Weekend Recap

the weekend was long, and things are still pretty messy around here, but overall things are looking good. 

I was the only one that could fit in the freight elevator when we had piled everything in each round, and had to ride it down 54 floors solo.   
it was surprisingly terrifying?
{better than being a man and doing the serious heavy lifting? hell yes.}
fist pumping on Lake Shore Drive in the U-Haul + happy half of it is over…. 
celebratory cocktails on the porch….
 {i’ve learned this weekend that some artwork, like those sunglasses, may never be leaving the apartment} 

and amazing fried mac + cheese bites at brunch 

the messiest aspect of the apartment is, and has been for the last year, the back office.
I pretty much stopped caring, but now I’m determined to get it looking better.  
I’ve always envisioned the ikea bookcase back there to make all our junk look pretty and organized.

I’m determined to have it looking half-way decent in the next 2 weeks.
