Weekend Recap

November 12, 2012

I had a lazy and relaxed weekend

{that is still continuing today – Happy Veteran’s Day!}

with lots of lounging and lots of cooking and baking.

we had our first experience with a cleaning lady.

words can’t possibly describe my happiness.

I walked around the apartment and stared for far too long.

the beginnings of my shrimp and rice casserole for saturday dinner.

and skinny funfetti cookies for dessert.

they taste like mini cupcakes, they were delicious.

although with the 30 degree drop last night…. now it feels more like winter

our other special dinner guest, penelope

dinner with friends before they headed out to da bears game.

and today I wish a very happy anniversary to my man friend.

I don’t know how I got so lucky.

but I’ll be making a giant chocolate peanut butter cake

tonight to show my love.

p.s. I am SO EXCITED Willie is now on The Today Show.

discuss amongst ya-selves……

RHOBH is my favorite of all the Housewives.

Not a whole lot happened in this first episode… but the season looks like it’s going to be a good one.

The husbands seem to get awfully bitchy with eachother and drop alot of f-bombs.

Adrienne’s flowers: holy hell.

They looked like her make-up, hair, and outfits: tacky as hell and cheap, but unfortunately you know it cost a fortune.

kathy hilton looks like kim richards mother.

you know you’ve done something wrong when your alcoholic/drug abusing sister looks like your daughter because you look that old.

p.s. i miss the gay bull-mastiff and the crazy diary confessional with the pink silk turtleneck already

brandi and lisa being bff’s still doesn’t make any sense to me?

Steal of the Week The Perfect Ankle Booties

The search for the perfect pair of fall boots can be a tough one.

The majority of the amazing ones are pricey.

And they are especially costly when you consider how Chicago winters tend to make a pair only last one year.

Friday night at dinner we realized that

3 of us were all wearing the exact same pair of boots.

rag + bone – $495

almost.

Except mine are Vince Camuto,

and cost less than 1/3 of the price of the Rag & Bone.

And they are literally completely identical.

Down to the last stitch and each line across the booties.
the Vince Camuto just have a more matte leather.

I fell in love with the Rag and Bone pair…knew it was never going to happen…. kept walking around the shoe department at Nordstrom and thought my eyes were playing tricks on me.

well… my mom – the queen shopper – spotted the save to be honest
