We all are aware of the recent events with Bethenny and her ex-husband Jason Hoppy. I mentioned it slightly in last weeks Coffee Talk.
I have always thought he seemed amazing, and on season 3 of their show Bethenny pretty much annihilated him, and I just never knew how much of either side to believe.
aka – I feel like he’s a good guy and he’s being made out to be the devil by her.
But…. I have educated myself a bit more this week (you know, podcasts and gossip sites) and now I feel like I am wrong?!
Because everyone else is saying he has been horrible always, and that all of this stuff with what the arrest was over 2 weeks ago is legitimately true, and that it has been like that for awhile.

I may have stopped at their new Cookie Bar at The Cosmopolitan and let me just tell you, it is delicious. I have a friend that was a pastry chef there and she brought us a bunch of baked goods to Chicago one time and I have been a believer ever since.
But these cakes look adorable and you can layer them and change them up with whatever things you like!
Plus, you bake the cake on a sheet pan which, to me, makes it 10x easier!
………speaking of Valentine’s dessert….but one that is much faster to make and healthier.
I’ll be doing a Saturday post sharing my flourless brownie recipe that is CRACK.
I made it in January and it was insanely delicious, so I am going to bake a batch tonight in an attempt to get better pictures, because we kinda just dug right into the pan a few weeks ago 🙂
So if any of you are being healthy, you can still indulge on Valentine’s Day without the guilt.

I've been really discussing this Jason Hoppy thing with my BFF. I think he cant let it go – that she is a multi-millionaire and can give their daughter the world. He's a normal Joe with a good job, but it has to be hard when your ex has so much $$$$$. But yes it sounds like he's gone off the deep end!
I know I feel like this is a perfect example of money destroying people!

I'm on the fence about Hoppy. He did seemed way more sane than Bethenny all through the show. All I can figure is it must devastate him to not be with his child every day and to have built this empire with Bethenny (I know she had it going for a while, but it really took off when they were dating/married) and he probably feels like he didn't get his fair shake. Bethenny openly admits on RHONY that she will cut someone out of her life quickly if she sees fit and makes no apologies for it. It's a little different when it's the father of your child though.
I know I'm so conflicted. He definitely seemed so sane and normal on the show! He was totally the nice one! I think the divorce/him being kept from their daughter must have caused him to go off the deep end? Yeah she definitely needs to change her mindset about cutting people out when you have to interact with them for your child for the rest of your life.
Could not agree more about Jason – he seemed so much more normal and kind of too good for her during their show, but after hearing the same podcasts I'm wondering if I misjudged? So confusing!
Glad I'm not alone in being confused/conflicted about this!!! I feel bad for him but then I wonder if this is a side we never saw? I think the child custody stuff has probably driven him to the point of insanity. They need to lock it up for the sake of their daughter!

They occasionally will have a sip – it is real wine – but they don't usually have any. It all started when they had Chelsea Handler on and had alcohol for her, and then a second guest had said they wanted alcohol because they saw that they did it before. I love them though they crack me up.
